Text Box: Thomas G. O’Connor, Chartered Benefit Consultant (CBC) and founder of The Wellington Group has been providing Employee Benefits and Insurance Consulting since 1986.  
 
Tom achieved “Agent of the Year” in 1989, and was appointed Sales Manager in 1991 with Home Life of New York. In 1992 he formed The Wellington Group.  Tom completed the 1992-1993 Agency Management Training Course, received the designation of “Chartered Benefit Consultant” (CBC) in June of  2003, and “Advanced Chartered Benefit Consultant” (ACBC) in June of 2006, being the highest degree of professional training granted by The National Association of Alternative Benefit Consultants (NAABC) of which Tom is a charter member.
 
Tom also served in the United States Navy in Fighter Squadron 84, stationed at Oceana Naval Air Station, Virginia Beach, Virginia. His squadron was deployed on the aircraft carrier USS Independence participating in the Cuban Naval blockade of 1962.
 
Tom’s enjoys spending his free time playing golf, woodworking, and spoiling his grandchildren!
 
 
 
Mark B. Borserine, MBA, Lutcf, CBC, has provided clients with Insurance and Financial Services since 1995. He joined The Wellington Group in 1999. Prior to entering the Insurance profession, he worked in the Investment Banking Division of United Missouri Bank.
 
In 1970, Mark graduated from Rockhurst University with an A.B. in Economics, an M.B.A. in 1983, and has been a Regent of Rockhurst University since 2003. 
 
Mark was a career Officer in the Army Reserve and National Guard from 1970-1993 in the Medical Service Corps retiring at the rank of Major.  He continues to serve as a Perpetual Companion of the Military Order of the World Wars; previously Commander of the Kansas City Chapter from 2003-2005, currently Region XI Commander since 2005. He also served as a Trustee of the Liberty Memorial.
 
Mark is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing.  He is currently the President of the Heart of America Fly fishers. He also enjoys Antique Cars and belongs to the Model T Ford Club of America.
 
 
 
Eric Smith is a graduate of the University of Kansas with a degree in Microbiology. He is a life long resident of Olathe, Kansas. He began his Benefits consulting career in 2006.  Joining The Wellington Group in 2007.  
 
Eric is very active in the gymnastics community, where he continues coaching recreational gymnastics for Blue Valley.  While directing the Kansas and Missouri Men’s Gymnastics Judges, he also finds time to do some men’s gymnastic judging himself.  
 
Eric enjoys several hobbies; volunteer gymnastics coach for Special Olympics; road course car racing; and the Porsche club of Kansas City. He has also been nominated for Kindest Kansas Citian!
 
 
 
Lisa Pool, the company’s Administrative Manager, joined the Wellington Group in February 2007.  She re-emerges into the work force after dedicating herself to raising her two children and volunteering in her community.  Co-Chair of a High School Annual Auction and Assisting the High School Director of Student Services to name a few.  
 
Lisa has more than 15 years experience in HealthCare and Administrative Management.  She has worn many hats in her career including Advertising Assistant Scheduling Manager; Office Manager; PPO Network Professional Services Representative, Coordinator, and Data Control Specialist.  
 
Lisa enjoys reading, scrapbooking and spending time with her family and friends.
